They engage in guerrilla warfare, sabotage missions, and strategic battles to weaken the Empire's grip on the galaxy. You’ll command the Rebel Alliance and work toward undermining the Galactic Empire's control. The Rebel campaign is set before and during the events of A New Hope. It focuses on Darth Vader's efforts to hunt down the remaining Jedi and crush any resistance to Imperial rule. You’ll be on the side of the Empire and work to solidify its control over the galaxy. The Empire campaign takes place in the period between Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope. In campaign mode, you can experience two separate storylines, one for the Galactic Empire and one for the Rebel Alliance. These modes allow you to shape your own narratives within the Star Wars universe. Star Wars: Empire at War does not have a linear plot in the traditional sense, as it offers both a Galactic Conquest mode and a campaign mode for the Galactic Empire and Rebel Alliance factions.
